Le Berry is an ancient province that owes its origins to the Gaulish ancestors “the Bituriges Cubis. There former capital Avaricum is named Bourges these days.

Our region is also rich in Gallo-Roman remains,
the amphiteater of Drevant is a stone’s throw
away from La Colline de Dialuc.

The nearest town is Saint-Amand-Montrond, situated at the foot of a hill on which the castle of the Prince of Conde was being destroyed in the 17th century.

The remains of the Forteresse de Montrond can be visited.
Today, Saint -Amand-Montrond is the third largest producer of gold and jewels in France. The Cité de l’Or is a pyramid chaped modern interactive museum,  fun and interesting for young and old.
A few kilometers from Saint-Amand-Montrond, the famous Cistercian abbey of Noirlac waites for your visit.
